"Your habits will determine your future"
- Jack Canfield
Habits impact our success in just about everything we do, be it the School, Activities, Sports, Health, Relationships etc. So, understanding and improving your habits is one of the most important things you can do to become the best version of yourself.
Students are always preoccupied with so many academic and other activities that they hardly find time for self rejuvenation and fall prey to health issues. We normally possess the ability to compare ourselves with our other colleagues and classmates. Some are able to give their best in everything, whereas some are unable to put 100 % and adjust somewhere with satisfying average remarks. Some are able to do the same amount of work in 24 hours whereas others struggle to find time to finish the task. Some are good at health all throughout their academic year whereas others struggle to be present in the school. Some are able to enroll in many different extra activities whereas some lack the ability and potential to get in.
If students are determined and follow good habits everyday there are high chances that every student will be good at academics, extra activities, health and time management. Daily routine habits highly influence our overall health and living which when managed wisely leads to success all the way.
Here is the list of 5 practices every student must follow on a daily basis:
DETOXIFY
Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon & liver. It typically implies following a specific diet or using special products that claim to rid your body of toxins, thereby improving health. Fortunately, our body is well-equipped to eliminate toxins and doesn’t require special diets or expensive supplements to do so.
Student life is so busy that we easily fall prey to poor eating habits, lack of physical exercise and meditation, insufficient sleep, excessive stress etc so much so that we miss the natural process of detoxification.
Generating a habit of daily body detoxification will help us to live a healthy life full of positive energy. Follow these steps for natural detoxification:
Limit Alcohol Consumption
Focus on Sleep
Drink More Water
Reduce Your Intake of Sugar and Processed Foods
Eat Antioxidant-Rich Foods
Eat Foods High in Prebiotics
Decrease Your Salt Intake
DESTRESS
Students are one of the most common victims of stress. Factors such as financial expenses, overcommitment, family expectations, deadlines and workload all induce stress in students. While a mild amount of stress is very useful and acts as a motivation for students, too much stress can interfere with their daily lives. Students also feel stress when they get too little sleep, a poor diet and even from having too much downtime.
Follow these steps to destress yourself and have a healthy elated life:
Use guided meditation
Practice deep breathing
Maintain physical exercise and good nutrition
Manage social media time
Connect with others
Control your emotions
DEPOLITICIZE
Student life is the most enjoyable period in one's life. Therefore, students should enjoy this period. They should also pay full attention to their studies. Getting involved in college or university politics and student council takes away much of the time and peace of a students life thereby pulling them away from their actual academic goals and affects one's well being too. In the process of becoming a Neta we fail to become a good student.
Follow these steps to keep yourself away from any kind of politics:
Stay away from campus distractions
Be neutral in your approach
Be kind and approachable
Don't be negative
Be focused
Be motivated towards your academic goal
DEPRESSURIZE
The enormous pressure on the students to do well at school, college and university not only hinders their growth and learning but leads to increased stress and anxiety leading to poorer physical, social and emotional health. Students can feel pressure from their parents, school, teachers, society or themselves to achieve higher grades and academic success. The society that we live in has high regard for academic excellence. Those who fail to meet up to the expectations often face harsh criticism which creates self-doubts about their abilities and intelligence. With a cut-throat competitive world out there, Students are constantly pushed to the edge by their parents to build a bright future and succeed in life.
Follow the steps below to reduce the pressure in your student life:
Make a timetable and stick to it
Take regular breaks
Eat well
Work out daily
Stick to a sleeping pattern
Reach out to friends and family
Utilize your vacation time wisely
Listen to music
DEMAGNETIZE
Distraction is like a magnetic force that easily attracts us. It is anything that prevents someone from concentrating on important things. It is easy to get distracted by things that don’t matter in a student’s life. Student life is full of attraction towards fancy lifestyle and modernization. Every new thing launched in the market easily attracts and grabs the attention of a student to such a level that it pulls the student away from his or her goals and passion leading to different types of distractions and loss of focus over their studies and academics. So one should have a great control over your senses and likings.
Follow the steps below for reducing the different kinds of distractions as a student:
Social media - Do not let the 5 minutes of check turn to an hour
Flirting & Relationship - Keep away from getting into short term or long term relationships.
Gossiping - Avoid chit chatting about others and their life.
Movies & Daily TV series - Avoid getting emotional attachment towards
Smartphones & Mobiles - Try to keep on silent to avoid unnecessary popping of messages and other attractions
Hope, all the 5 De- have powerfully influenced you all to be motivated and charged enough to fulfill your life goals and be energetically activated throughout your academic life.
