"The Children of today will make the India of tomorrow"
- Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Yes, it's a true prophetic word spoken by the first prime minister of India who truly was very fond of children so much so that he dedicated his birthday for those precious gifts of god as 'Children’s Day'. He was fondly called ‘Chacha Nehru’ because of his profound love for children. This day emphasises on the importance of giving love, attention and affection to children.
Childhood is such a marvellous journey that we always treasure and cherish till our last breath. The most happening days of everyone's life is student life. A student's life in a school, college or university is adorable in every phase of our life. We always wish to be a student rather than a grown up adult with everyday struggle full of stress and fear.
Teachers and students share different bonds with different equations all throughout their academic journey. Childhood spent as a student is always a life full of beauty, charm and showering opportunities. A student always looks up to a teacher when in problem and pain. A teacher's life is incomplete without students. Students give teachers that extra strength and satisfaction in their professionalism. Students make a teacher content with optimum exposure for their passion.
Being a teacher for a few decades, my heart is overwhelmed to talk to my students on this auspicious day where our nation celebrates the birthday of Chacha Nehru i.e., CHILDREN'S DAY. Being a teacher, thousands of children as students enter our lives and leave a lasting impression which is unique to every student. Every student is special for a teacher in some or the other way. Though a student might forget their teachers who taught them with so much determination and proficiency but a teacher will never. Soon after passing out from university or college, achieving great success and fame, building stupendous records to stand tall among others builds a different personality of a student. Statistically it's only 1 in 1000 students who actually turns back to a teacher to thank her for building a better you in yourself.
As we celebrate CHILDREN'S DAY on this 14th of November, I hereby share words of wisdom for the present students community to enable them to have bright and shining days ahead as a student. Below is the list of 10 vibrant words of wisdom that every teacher would like to convey to all the students around the world.
Be Focused:
Be firm in your focus. Do not let any external activity divert you from accomplishing your dreams. Frame distinguished goals and strive every day hard towards fulfilling it. The blueprint of your dream should be so catchy and crisp that you be crystal clear about What is your goal in your life? What do you want to achieve? and What do you want to become? Do not let your thoughts be diverted in worldly affairs but be laser sharp.
Be Ready:
Be smart and always on the tip of your toes to face any kind of challenges that come your way. Keep last moment panic and fear at the bay but be open and acceptable to abrupt changes. Be it a surprise test in the classroom or a quick stand up presentation in front of other mentors. Be very confident. Life will bring many challenges in your way but you have to chase them with smartness and readiness.
Be Responsible:
Being a student, you are responsible for building our nation, for developing our nation, for bringing a positive change in the society we live in, and for changing yourself as a responsible citizen of our proud nation. Be responsible not only for our nation but also for yourself and your family and society around.
Be Respectful:
Have gratitude for all seniors and juniors that you probably come across in your academic life. Give respect and greet everyone right from the gatekeeper of the school till principal and the management members of the school. A warm wish " Good morning" , " Good Afternoon ", " Thank you" etc will add to the joy of those people and sum up cheerfully around with a smile on their face till the day ends.
Be Sober:
Always win your teachers and friends' hearts with simplicity by being sober and down to earth. Every teacher prefers a student who even after having knowledge about a certain thing doesn't show off or carry a tag of over smartness with them.
Be Radiating:
Your presence should be so pleasurable and charming in the classroom that every teacher and classmates should miss your presence even in your absence. As wisely said, 'Your first impression is the last impression.' Always carry a different kind of radiation and spark with you wherever you stand and walk. People around should get amazed looking at your vibrant behaviour, gesture and approach.
Be Courageous:
Courage involves making good choices between fear or obstacles. It means we do not let fear hold us back from exploring new opportunities, developing our skills, and doing what is right. Being a 21st century student, you need courage to begin something. Courage gives you the ability to put aside your fear of failure and take the first steps. Courage helps you overcome the fear of rejection. Courage allows you to attempt things that you have not tried before, despite your fear of looking foolish.
Be Creative:
Creativity allows you to express yourself. Creativity promotes thinking and problem solving. So, Have a creative approach towards every problem. Think out of the box. Be unique in your ideas. Explore your knowledge and understanding to develop a wise application of solving a particular problem. Do not steal or copy ideas of others but have your own treasure box full of creativity and creative approaches towards academics and self.
Be Yourself:
Do not wear a fake mask on yourself by acting like someone whom you like the most and who inspires you the most. Your actions, gestures, expression and approach towards everything should be so different that you set up your own style for others to follow. Be a trendsetter. Make your own name known to the world instead of following someone else's style or personality. Let your unique personality speak aloud and be known to the world.
Remember Your Teachers:
To end with an important note, ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR TEACHERS AND GIVE DUE REGARDS AND RESPECT TO HIM/HER WHEREVER AND HOWEVER POSSIBLE. A teacher's life is incomplete without a student. It is only a student who brings joy to a teacher's life and profession. It is only a student who keeps us alive to drive our passion. Yes, your teachers love you and remembers you irrespective of which standard or year you were under her, irrespective of whether you were a fast learner or a slow learner, irrespective of whether you were good in all academics and extra curricular or not, irrespective of whether you the most disciplined or most notorious in the class.
Hope you have a blessed children's day full of new knowledge and understanding to lead your student life towards a bright future with obedience, respect, courage, devotion and smartness.
